Giant Mesquite Bug
(Thasus spp.)
In
Southern Arizona and Mexico, Mesquite bugs are found clustered on leaves of the Mesquite
Bush. These are definitely some of the largest US herbivorous Hemipterans!
My limited research shows that there are two species. I may have specimens
of both. I've labeled them below, based on my best educated guess,
although they might represent the same species (male, female).
