Sungaya inexpectata

Excavation
of ova in abdomen of Sungaya inexpectata. Note connective tissue on ova.

Although
lined up here for the purposes of illustration, ova seem to form in every area
of the abdominal cavity. In one Heteropteryx dilatata female, I excavated
8 viable ova, and more than 10 ova in varying stages of formation.
