Baculum sp. (PSG 157)

This the longest Baculum species I have seen.  One of my females measured 13 inches (28 cm)!  They come out of the ovum very large, and with beautiful striped legs!  The last 2 segments of the abdomen have black patches on the dorsal surface.  Each instar is much larger than the last, and the time between molts is very short.  Males become very dark, almost black as they grow.  Females turn from light to dark green, and then become paler again as they reach maturity.  Both sexes have beautiful stripes along the body.

Foodplants: bramble, raspberry, rose

This female is 13 inches long (28 cm)!
