Baculum thaii (PSG 22)

This is a species from Thailand.  The males of this species are very thin.  The nymph pictured below (middle on bottom, on hawthorn) is a 2 day old hatchling.  It's even more slender than nymphs of Sipyloidea sipylus.  My 2nd and 3rd instar nymphs have striped legs.  The adults have very interesting little ear-like protrusions on their heads, which seem to be a characteristic of many Baculum species (B. extradentatum and B. nematodes for example).

Foodplants: bramble, hawthorn, oak, rose

 4th instar Two ear-like protrusions
