Phyllium celebicum
(PSG
128)
Maybe
this is a smaller species of Phyllium, as the ova are much smaller than others I
have seen. At hatching, the nymphs are brown, but with two pairs of
distinctive light-green 1st & 2nd abdominal segments. The legs have
white stripes, which are very similar to Phyllium siccifolium, but the insect
lacks the orange-tinting elsewhere. As with all Phyllium they nymph
becomes green as it begins to eat. Males again, are slender, winged, and
capable of flight, unlike the females.
Foodplants: bramble,
guava, mango, oak
