Sungaya inexpectata (195)

Another interesting member of the family Heteropteryginae!  This species from the Philippines is about as lacking in color as phasmids come.  Only females exist in captivity, which have the ability to reproduce themselves via parthenogenesis (like all other Phasmid species, apparently).  See a dissected specimen at Phasmid Anatomy 101.

Foodplants: bramble
